I completed this mural for a very cute girl with a French-themed room. Her mom has such great taste in furniture and stylish accessories that I was inspired to make this as girly and fancy as I could. Good thing mom knew exactly what she wanted. I absolutely love the way it turned out!
This family has a boisterous and beautiful set of THREE boys! I absolutely love spending time with them and watching their imaginations take off. Dad is a pilot and we wanted their room to be a place for imagining new things as well as celebrating all the things they love about their dad. Cohen particularly likes planets and outer space, so we came up with a way to fit it all in there. Things not clear in the images are the glow in the dark paint on the planets and stars, and the silhouetted cityscape at the bottom of the wall. I’ve been back to their house and have heard just how much the boys love this painting. I do too, guys. Thanks for letting my imagination blend with yours’!
Baby Berkeley arrived to come home to this amazing nursery Mom set up for her. The furniture was exquisite, the accessories were adorable and I was completely inspired. Mom and Dad allowed me to come up with not just one, but two, murals and to use my imagination. I had such a good time painting both of these and was delighted to hear they loved how they turned out.
The video’s producer asked me to create a painting that was outside the lines of the color-by-number template he gave me. I think it took me a day or two to paint this painting. Although I love how the painting turned out, I still haven’t filled in the middle.
We created this video as an introduction to a LifeGroups video during One Prayer 2008. Check out One Prayer at http://www.oneprayer.com for information about the 2009 event.
I’m passionate about serving others, as we are asked to in 1 Peter 4:10, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” You can read more about my service opportunities at http://365daysofservice.com. I’ve been documenting my adventures for the past year there.
It’s great to have a friend whose also a video producer, because you get invited to do awesome things like participate in video shoots like this one. We spent the morning setting up the various shots and it was fun to showcase Berkeley’s room that I recently completed for friends. (I’ll have pictures of the room up very soon.) This was a promotional video played at LifeChurch.tv for Dino Rizzo’s church, Healing Place Church, and their initiative called “Servolution“. Dino’s written a book by the same name: http://www.servolution.org/book/.
This is a few minutes long… but it’s great information for everyone. LifeChurch.tv’s KONNECT 5 curriculum is aimed at kids in 5th grade. This is a video for those kids, and a friend had asked that I paint a portrait of Jesus. My first thought was how do you start a portrait of Jesus?? I wanted to recreate my personal belief that Jesus appears to each of us differently. I captured that thought through this painting reminiscent of a Warhol silkscreen.
I got a new camera recently, and in order to learn how to use it, I have been photographing some of my older work. I thought I’d post those photos, just for fun. I need to keep practicing my technique, because these are not the best photos I can take, but it’s fun to see how much my work has changed over the years.
